Heucheras, also known as coral bells, come in a wide variety of colors from chartreuse to red to purple to pink and pair perfectly with other shade-loving perennials or on their own in containers. Purple and yellow are complementary colors that work together to make each color stand out, but any color pairing you love would work. It does not tolerate hot and humid conditions. There's no need to skimp on color in a shade garden. Hardy in zones 4 to 7, it prefers a dappled shade location, though it will survive in full sun.
